Braunton School in Devon is set to become one of the greenest schools in the country in January 2008, thanks to a £20,000 match funded grant from the Co-operative group for new solar panels.

Seaford Head Community College in East Sussex is set to become one of the greenest schools in the country when solar panels are installed by Solarcentury.

Schools from across the country have been selected for The Co-operative Group’s £1m Green Energy for Schools scheme. Each will each receive rooftop solar panels worth £20,000.

The UK schools to receive free solar power through Solar4Schools and Barclaycard Breathe have been named.

The Solar4Schools classroom poster is now available as a downloadable pdf file in the teaching resources part of this site. This poster, which shows the many applications of solar PV in the built environment, will also be supplied in a printed format to successful schools.
